President Trump "Considering Terminating" Russia Special Counsel Robert Mueller

High-profile supporters of President Donald Trump are turning on special counsel Robert Mueller, the man charged with investigating Russian interference in the USA election and possible collusion with Trump's campaign.

He also emphasized that the DOJ will "faithfully follow the regulation" and Mueller will have the "full degree of independence he needs to conduct that investigation appropriately".

Ruddy said the ethics behind Mueller's presence are concerning considering how he was appointed to be special counsel.

Some of President Donald Trump's closest allies - including one of his sons - have begun questioning whether Mueller's wide-ranging probe is becoming too political, as the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election intensifies. Trump himself does not have the authority to directly fire the special counsel. And you suggested - I think I heard you suggesting that there is a question about the objective of his investigation.

'But I think that the unusual situation here, this is unprecedented in our history, is that the former executive - the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director was the source of a leak, ' Sekulow continued.

Sessions testified Tuesday that he recused himself from the current Russian Federation investigation only because of a regulation that required it because of his involvement in the Trump campaign.

The White House has distanced itself from Ruddy's comments, and press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that he has not spoken to Trump about the topic. Brian Schatz about the scope of Sessions' recusal, Rosenstein said Sessions "actually does not know what we're investigating, and I'm not going to be talking about it publicly".

"First, most simply, Trump could order Mueller fired", Katyal said.

In the event that Sessions did indeed fire Mueller, Coulter added, "What's anyone going to do?" The president, therefore, would have to direct Rosenstein to fire Mueller - or, somewhat more extravagantly, Trump could order the special-counsel regulations repealed and then fire Mueller himself.

Asked about Trump's own contention that the president fired Comey with the Russian Federation probe in mind, and regardless of any recommendation from anyone else, Sessions said: "I guess I'll just have to let his words speak for themselves".

After news of Ruddy's interview surfaced, Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, tweeted: "If President fired Bob Mueller, Congress would immediately re-establish independent counsel and appoint Bob Mueller".

Mueller has served multiple presidents in both parties. "If there were not good cause it wouldn't matter what anyone said".

The Wisconsin Republican commented in response to a Trump friend, Chris Ruddy, the CEO of Newsmax, who suggested Monday night that the president was already thinking about "terminating" Mueller from his position as special counsel.

Starr, however, warned that Mueller should be careful not to "wander outside the bounds of professionalism and basic integrity" - as those would be grounds to fire him.

CHRISTOPHER RUDDY: I know for a fact that he was under consideration and that the president did talk with him in the days before he was named special counsel.
