Leeds turn to former APOEL boss Thomas Christiansen

Leeds United are set to name Thomas Christiansen as the club's new head coach.

The 44-year-old has been out of work since being let go by Cypriot side APOEL and is poised to succeed Garry Monk in the dugout at Elland Road.

Despite guiding APOEL to the knockout stages of the Europa League and winning the league title last season he wasn't kept on by the Cypriot club.

Sherman says there was no request for trade from Seahawks
Sherman said that Wilson , who has been the team's starting quarterback since his rookie season, is a "great quarterback". And if the Seahawks would have traded him this offseason, the veteran cornerback would not have been upset about it.

New Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani is said to have met Christiansen last this week.

APOEL released him in the wake of losing to Apollon Limassol in the national cup final.

His only other managerial experience is with AEK Larnaca, also in Cyprus' top tier, who he led from 2014 to 2016.

There's still a few contract details to be sorted, but the Yorkshire Evening Post claim confirmation of his arrival is likely before the weekend.

This news has invigorated Leeds United fans who now look forward to today with a renewed sense of enthusiasm.

The Italian businessman has since made wholesale changes to the management structure at Elland Road, appointing former West Ham managing director Angus Kinnear to the same role at Leeds and Victor Orta as director of football.
