Crystal Palace make 'last-minute offer' to managerial target Claudio Ranieri

Crystal Palace have allegedly tried to scupper former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri's move to Nantes by offering him last minute terms to take up the hotseat at Selhurst Park.

Claudio Ranieri says Raymond Domenech has "always been a freakish guy" as he prepares to take charge of Ligue 1 club Nantes, despite the former France manager's disapproval.

Nantes will be Ranieri's 17th management job spanning a 31-year career in the dugout, but the veteran Italian had to wait longer than expected for the deal to go through, due to a freakish rule in French football.

Brazilian President Michel Temer acquitted of illegal campaign funding
Temer took over the presidency a year ago after Rousseff was impeached and removed for illegally managing the federal budget. Temer's office denied the Veja report, saying the Abin "acts in accordance with the goal for which it has been created".

@FCNantes is delighted to announce that Claudio Ranieri will be our coach for the next 2 years.

The club confirmed that the 65-year-old responsible for one of the most outrageous success stories in modern football had signed a two-year contract in what it described as a "nice coup by the Nantes directors".

The Italian originally seemed set to miss out due to Domenech's insistence on the application of a French Football League rule preventing coaches from working beyond the age of 65. "I haven't signed yet, but there is an agreement with the president", Ranieri told Mediaset Premium.

Mueller said to examine whether Trump sought to slow probe

"I do my work with passion, professionalism and focus, so what others say doesn't interest me". "Then, considering it is Domenech, you can take what he says with a pinch of salt - he's always been a freaky guy".

Nantes will be hoping Ranieri can continue their progress as they look to build on a seventh-place finish in 2016-17.
