Mourinho drops Ibrahimovic from Manchester United squad

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC MAY have been released by Manchester United, but the Swede is eager to point out that he is far from finished.

The 35-year-old, whose 2016-17 season was cut short by a serious knee injury, has revealed that he could potentially play for another two years.

United chose not to extend the veteran striker's contract for the 2017-18 season, ending his one-year run in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, Yaya Sanogo has been released by Arsenal while Arouna Kone at Everton and Fraizer Campbell at Crystal Palace have also not been offered new deals.

The report says Ibrahimovic agreed terms with the American club in March, subject to him being let go by the Red Devils.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic being released by Manchester United yesterday after just one season in England, the Swedish superstar looks to be on his way to the Galaxy. United have already lined up a replacement for Ibrahimovic and are all set to sign Real Madrid's Spanish striker Alvaro Morata in the coming days.

Mr Haydon said: "When I come back to Butt trying to get hold of a 7.5 tonne lorry - the effect could have been even worse". Six minutes later it returned, crossing over the bridge again and making a U-turn at the northern end, the report said.

Ibrahimovic will continue his rehabilitation from injury at the club, leaving open the possibility that United could sign the striker on a short-term deal for the second half of next season. Many believe that he was responsible for restoring some of the confidence and panache that the club seemed to have lost following the drab football that the team played under former manager Louis van Gaal.

Ibrahimovic did indeed produce the goods, scoring a total of 28 goals for the club and playing a crucial role in the EFL Cup and Europa League triumphs.
