Jeff Sessions offered to resign because of Trump's anger over this

President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have had a series of heated exchanges in the last several weeks after Sessions recused himself from the Russian Federation probe, a source close to Sessions told CNN Tuesday.

Trump was reportedly still angry with Sessions, over the attorney general's decision to recuse himself from the ongoing investigation into Russia's suspected attempts to interfere in the presidential election previous year.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions reportedly offered to resign amid growing tensions with President Donald Trump. You may remember Sessions has had to recuse himself from anything to do with the Russian Federation probe because of his ties to Russian Federation, and Rod Rosenstein was the person who wrote the memo President Trump originally cited as the reason he fired Comey, before he said that he meant to fire Comey all along.

Sessions said his decision to accept the intelligence committee's invitation to appear was due in part to Comey's testimony.

Sanders and Spicer declined on Tuesday and Wednesday to confirm whether Trump had confidence in his attorney general, claiming they had not discussed the matter with Trump.
