A Peacock Just Caused $500 In Damage At A Liquor Store

"A peacock walks into a liquor store".

The bird was later taken care of by animal control and freed into the wild.

So, the 21-year-old manager made a decision to call 911 and an animal control officer wearing protectives gloves and carrying a comically large fishing net arrived on the scene. The peacock didn't like that very much.

The peacock ended up knocking down about $700-worth of wine and champagne, Mr Ghanem said.

Jefferson says Cavs season a failure without National Basketball Association championship
Maybe it will inspire another surge, or maybe it will add some comforting perspective should they come up short. It wasn't a goal of ours to start the postseason, but now that's it's attainable, we have our eyes set on it.

A female peacock - technically called a "peahen" - smashed up an Arcadia, California liquor store on Monday.

As he watched the freaky face-off between man and peacock unfold, Rani Ghanem, a 21-year-old San Bernardino resident whose family owns the store, pinpointed the exact moment of calamity. When that happened, I was like, 'Aw, this is about to be a big mess, '"said Ghanem".

"It just kept on swimming through the bottles, and it's going and everything is just falling straight down - this whole thing used to be full", Mr Ghanem explained, pointing to a half-empty bench-top.

Despite her expensive tastes, the animal control officer told Ghanem the peacock would be released at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Garden.

Peacocks are common in the area but are protected birds, with fines and jail time as consequences for harming them, the AP reported.

They first arrived in Arcadia thanks to the city's founder, who brought them back from a trip to India in the late 1800s, a local historian told the paper.
