Cavaliers get physical to keep title hopes alive

Down 3-0 in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors, the Cavaliers put together an inspired performance at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday night to win 137-116 and keep their season alive.

Not only were their 49 points they scored in the first quarter an NBA Finals record, but Kevin Love's 3-pointer late in the second gave the Cavaliers a record 86 points at halftime.

James finished with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to Oakland, California to take on the Golden State Warriors in game 5 of the NBA Finals.

LeBron James' 9th career triple-double in the National Basketball Association finals - a record - keyed the Cavaliers rout of the Warriors in Game 4.

Michelle Carter's Defense Ask Judge To Dismiss Case
She also received text messages from Carter offering support after her brother's death but no indication they had been in contact. Prosecutors said Carter pushed him over the edge and convinced him to commit suicide by badgering him with text and phone calls.

"We finally settled in, man, it was about damn time, for all of us just to really see what playing well as a group looks like against a great team like the Warriors", said Irving. "We shared the ball, we moved the ball and defensively we were physical", James said.

Kevin Durant led Golden State with 35 points, one of five Warriors in double figures.

The Cavaliers have stopped Golden State from celebrating and maybe started another comeback with a win in game four of the NBA Finals.

Their first-half output beat the previous mark of 79 points set in 1985 by the Boston Celtics.

The Warriors, who were 15-0 in this postseason, lead the series 3-1.

CLEVELAND (AP) - Golden State's ideal postseason is over, the champagne corks still in their bottles.

"What this team has accomplished is remarkable", Kerr said. They came out and handed it to us.

At the end of that marathon quarter, the Cavaliers had outscored the Warriors 29-28, the Warriors had out-technical-ed Cleveland 3-2, and it was 115-96 Cleveland heading into the fourth.

The only 2001 playoff loss by the Lakers came in the first game of the finals against Philadelphia.

After the first quarter, the Warriors went into desperation mode, and the Cavs continued their own frenzied pursuit of dignity, so the game got a bit chippy, with several verbal altercations and seven technical fouls. In one floor fight over a loose ball, Warriors' center Zaza Pachulia punched Iman Shumpert in the groin. Pachulia could have been tossed, but was only given a technical, as was Shumpert. Comedian Kevin Hart and National Football League star Odell Beckham Jr. were among the courtside celebrities. "If I felt better, I was going to do it". James jumped Michael Jordan (1,176) on the Finals scoring list, and hopped over His Airness (1,463) for the most made free throws in the postseason. Reserve guard Dahntay Jones was called for a technical in the first half for trash talking with Durant.

Warriors One Game away from NBA Title
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving played their best games of these Finals, combining for 77 points, relentlessly attacking the rim. What's happened is probably beyond what either even imagined. "I really don't know what I did last night".
