Star-studded "One Love Manchester" raises £2million+

The 23-year-old pop singer valiantly returned to the city weeks after the tragic suicide bombing that claimed the lives of 22 people in the Manchester Arena following her May 22nd concert.

The concert was being broadcast in Britain by the BBC, which said networks in 38 other countries would also broadcast the show.

Gallagher, formerly of Oasis, earned loud cheers from the audience as he emerged in his home town in surprise form.

Performing her hits Roar and Part of Me at the benefit concert, Perry also spoke emotionally to the crowd.

She said the U.K.'s national threat level remained at severe on Monday, which "means that a terrorist attack is highly likely". May said the victims included a "number of nationalities", saying it was "an attack on the free world".

Revenue from the concert will be deposited in the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund which is superintended by the Manchester City Council and the British Red Cross.

The students were invited to sing with Grande after uploading their cover of the song on YouTube to honour those that were affected by the attack. Grande later joined a choir from Parrs Wood High School, who sang their own version of her song, "My Everything".

"I didn't know she was going to sing it", Joan Grande told Variety. "We want everyone to stand strong".
