Redouane, who also goes by the name Rachid Elkhdar is claimed to be a Moroccan and Libyan.

The attackers, who were wearing fake suicide bomb vests, were shot dead by eight officers after police opened fire with a hail of 50 bullets.

Khuram Shazad Butt, aged 27, was a British citizen born in Pakistan, who was already known to police and Britain's domestic spy agency MI5, London's police force said.

Police in London said a second suspect identified Monday, Rashid Redouane was not known to police.

Khan had told Londoners there was "no reason to be alarmed" about an increased police presence in the coming days following the attack, a remark Trump mischaracterized in a Sunday tweet, suggesting the mayor had said there was "no reason to be alarmed" about the attack itself.

As the nation collectively grieves following the third terror attack to hit the country in three months, a minute's silence will observed on Tuesday at 11am in memory of the victims.

In an early morning raid in east London, British counter-terrorism police detained more people on Monday.

The mayor's comments follow criticism from Trump on Twitter over Khan's response to a terror attack Saturday that left seven people dead in the British capital.

"The Conservative plans mean another 400 million pounds ($516 million) of cuts to the Met, as well as between 184 million pounds and 700 million pounds a year due to their changes to the police funding formula", Khan, a member of the opposition Labour Party, said in an email.

All 10 people still being held as part of the investigation were released without charge on Monday.

Police said there was no evidence the attack had been planned.

The U.K. government should reassess its invitation to U.S. President Donald Trump for a state visit later this year, according to London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

The Conservative Party's lead over Labour has narrowed markedly from 20 points or more when May called the election in April to a range between one and 12 points now, although the Conservatives are still widely expected to win a majority.

A London mosque said Butt "infrequently" attended prayers there but was asked to leave after an incident a few years ago where he interrupted a Friday sermon, according to a statement from Jabir bin Zayd Islamic Centre.

"We are ready to have those hard conversations, as equal citizens with an equal stake in this fight", he said in a statement Monday.

Khan said he had been too busy dealing with the fallout from the attack to respond directly to the tweet.

Investigations are continuing to identify the third attacker.

In March, an attacker plowed into people on Westminster Bridge, killing five.

The Labour mayor also warned that London would be more risky under Conservative government budget cuts, which could lead to 12,000 fewer police officers.
