Apple introduced a powerful iMac Pro


Apple on Monday at its WWDC 2017 keynote address event in San Jose announced an update for its MacBook and MacBook Pro models. The iMacs start at $1,099. They have higher memory capacities, faster storage, and Thunderbolt 3 capacity.

From brand new iMacs to revamped iPads, Apple has revamped nearly every personal computer and tablet it has to offer, and also showcased its upcoming operating software for new devices. Numbers like 8-, 10-, or 18-core Xeon processors or 11 teraflops of single precision and 22 teraflops of half precision jump out immediately, and RAM up to 128GB and SSDs up to 4TB are sure to draw pro users' attention to the iMac Pro.

The iMac gets a big boost with the move to Intel's 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors. They start at $1099. The top-end model, the Radeon Pro 580, promises 5.5 trillion floating-point operations per second (T/FLOPS) of compute performance in a thermal envelope AMD claims is perfectly suited to the iMac's slim all-in-one design.

Apple's Fusion Drive storage system is now standard on all 27-inch iMacs and can be specced on the 21.5-inch models. The 12-inch MacBook was last updated earlier previous year with faster chips and a rose gold color option.

These laptops weigh 2lbs and are 13.1mm thin. MacBook now features faster Kaby Lake processors up to 1.3 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz and up to 50 percent faster SSD, and supports up to twice the memory.

This larger model additionally comes with improved graphics and more video memory, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro now has a £1,249 option.

Surprisingly, the MacBook Air gets a little speed bump to 1.8GHz. It also comes with a beautifully crisp 27-inch Retina 5K display, ideal working on advanced graphics editing, virtual reality content creation and real-time 3D rendering.

The 27-inch iMac also has a new screen.

It gives you an incredibly detailed, color-rich image on the front of the display thanks to its 5K display and wider color gamut.
