The Apple Pencil is also going to be integrated more tightly into Apple's Notes app - handwritten text will now be searchable thanks to new machine learning algorithms, and users can make inline drawings in text-based notes. The new iPad Pro has a larger screen than its predecessors - 10.5 inches instead of the standard 9.7 inches. The company said it will ship it to more global markets in 2018.

iPad Pro has a new feature called ProMotion that makes the Apple Pencil quicker-latency down to 20 milliseconds, not that anybody's actually clocking this. Through its Messages app, you'll be able to send and receive money from other iOS users.

Siri may seem a bit behind the curve compared to the slick AI voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, which've come into their own in the past couple years, but Apple's hoping to give it the boost it needs in iOS 11. This includes a completely redesigned app store with better app discovery, as well as a new "do not disturb while driving" feature that blocks notifications in the auto.

Although Siri would likely be a centerpiece of a smart speaker from Apple, Moorhead said the device's design, colors and acoustics will also likely be focal points because the company has a long history of making elegantly designed products. The newest member of the iPad Pro family might finally be the right size people are looking for.

Drag-and-drop features integrated with the Files app and other iPad apps will allow files and images to be dragged between split apps, and even into spaces in the new multitasking multiple-app view.
