Dufner roars back to win Memorial by three strokes

"I definitely didn't think I would be three shots ahead with a 68".

All because the guy next to him Saturday, Jason Dufner, lost his way.

Perhaps the most impressive part of Dufner's win was his ability to rebound from a 77 on Saturday. Dufner went from the 36-hole record to four shots out of the lead.

Dufner seized the lead for good with a birdie on the par-5 15th hole to get to 12-under, one shot clear of Fowler.

At least he's still in the game, and he has plenty of company.

This marks Dufner's fifth-career win on the PGA Tour, his first since winning the CareerBuilder Challenge in January 2016.

"Today was pretty pathetic on all accounts so I'll have to play better tomorrow", he said. Kyle Stanley (68), James Hahn (69), Bubba Watson (73) and Kevin Kisner (71), who won last week's Dean & Deluca Invitational, were at 280. Justin Thomas and Matt Kuchar finished four strokes back from Dufner at -9 to round out the Top 5.

Spieth charges, Kisner holds on to win Colonial by 1 stroke
The Senior PGA was the only major that had eluded the German star during his dominant decade-long run on the 50-and-over circuit. Webb Simpson , the tournament's 54-hole leader, shot over-par Sunday for the first time all week at the most inopportune time.

Rickie Fowler was alone in third after a 66 for 136. Dufner had a pair of three-putts, and he twice missed birdie putts from 6 feet.

To that point, Bubba Watson joked Sunday that when he watches Dufner, "it's like his heart is not even beating". "It started about 50 yards short of the green".

"I'd love to keep that trend going", he said. One of the smartest things he's done recently was to stay with Fowler in Jupiter, Florida, last winter.

While Day and Leishman finished top among the Australians it was 20-year-old rookie Brett Coletta who produced perhaps the most impressive performance.

Paratore started the final day at the Barseback Gold and Country Club one stroke behind Wood.

After play resumed the second time, Dufner, from a bad lie in the rough, wasn't able to get out the first time.

He even finished with a flourish, holing with a superb 36-foot putt to save par on the final green.

International Olympic Committee says OPEC output cut won't hit imports
Opec's cuts have helped to push oil back above $50 a barrel this year, giving a fiscal boost to producers. Despite last year's production cuts, oil prices have risen by less than OPEC hoped for.

Summerhays took a three-shot lead into the final round at OH and was well placed to claim his first PGA Tour title.

"Those 30 footers are a little easier for me than the three footers", Dufner joked after his win.

It was a day to forget for Dustin Johnson at the Memorial as the World No 1 shot a 74 on Friday to miss the cut.

"There was lots of good stuff this week, but I just haven't got it under control off the tee", he said. It's nice to actually be here on the weekend after missing three straight cuts here. First at 4:18 p.m. for 77 minutes and again at 6:48 p.m. - also for 77 minutes - with just six players remaining on the course.

Adam Scott was the other notable performance of the week after a roller coaster opening two rounds which featured a 10 shot swing. His best result this year was at the end of April at the China Open, a tie for fourth. The Utahan carded two birdie-4s at Nos. But he shot a final round of 70 to finish 11 under and claim the victory.

Nordqvist won the Founders Cup in Phoenix in March for her seventh LPGA Tour title, a homecoming victory for the former Arizona State star.

Moriya Jutanugarn and Lee each shot 70.

Comey to be pressed on whether Trump interfered with Russia probe
Trump also said in an interview that he was thinking of "this Russian Federation thing" when he chose to fire Comey. Trump undercut that narrative just days later by saying he dismissed Comey in part because of the " Russia thing".
