Lorde taking lucky cashier to Governors Ball

"She got a Blue Velvet, I am shook", Twitter user and Liquiteria employee @ThatEmely exclaimed in a video, before flipping the camera to show an excited Lorde.

Lorde later messaged the cashier to gift her tickets to the Governors Ball which she is headlining.

Emely Medina, who is new to her cashier job at a smoothie store in NY, shared a video on Twitter with the caption "she made my morning" after serving the singer a drink earlier this week (beg29May17).

For Bernhard Langer, winning this event after several close calls would cap a decade of dominance on the over-50 circuit. Marc Leishman had a one-under 69 to be even par for the tournament and the leading Australian in a tie for 22nd.

There's paying it forward, and then there's paying it so far forward you push the person on the receiving end into an incredible experience - which is kinda sorta what Lorde did when she walked into a smoothie shop and made a cashier's day. The 20-year-old laughs, smiles and throws up peace signs with her fingers.

After her visit, Lorde sent a direct message to Mangu on Twitter offering the free pass to watch her performance on 2 June. She responded to the musician writing, "No way- this is a joke right?".

The Royals hitmaker invited Ayesha to the Governors Ball "on me" before adding: "I was going to ask you in the store if you wanted to come but I got shy". I'm crying [right now]!

Czech second seed Karolina Pliskova reached the French Open second round on Monday with a 7-5, 6-2 win overn China's Zheng Saisai. Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark survived a second-set scare to beat Australian wild card Jaimee Fourlis and reach the second round.

Meanwhile, Lorde has also teased the release of a new song from her forthcoming album Melodrama.

But it wasn't a dream, the witch Lorde was real and so was her offer, which seems to have come at no price.

The Kiwi star is set to play at the Governors Ball alongside the likes of Chance the Rapper, Tool, Mark Ronson and more this weekend.
