Joe Biden talks 2020, says Hillary Clinton wasn't great candidate

The former vice president even admitted that he's been approached by people who want him to take the plunge and run to face Trump in 2020.

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday said he wasn't ready to rule out the possibility of running for president in 2020, and he also had some criticism for former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "Probably no", Biden told hedge fund managers at the annual SALT conference in Las Vegas. "I never thought she was the correct candidate".

The former vice president and longtime USA senator from DE has led an initiative to end cancer, which took the life of his son, Beau, in 2015. "I thought I was a great candidate", he said. That makes the arguments personal, and hard to work together on, he said.

Although the former Vice President did not specify if he would consider running for the 2020 election, age could be another deciding factor for the DE native who will be 78 by the next election.

He signed a plea agreement with prosecutors in which he agreed not to appeal any sentence between 21 and 27 months in prison. Despite claiming he had changed his ways, Weiner was revealed to have sent other similar messages with women and girls.

The moderator asked Biden if he would run for president in the future.

"At this point, no one in my family or I have made the judgment to run", the former vice president said. "That, as the first woman who had an opportunity to win the presidency, I think it was a real burden on her", he said. "Yes", he said. "I was the best qualified".

Biden also said he must fulfill several financial promises with his wife, Jill, including paying off their mortgage, CNN notes. "Let's wake up!" Biden declared.

But sanctions so far have stopped short of hitting the oil sector in Venezuela, which is a major USA oil supplier. Trump's administration has repeatedly raised concerns that Maduro is moving toward one-party, authoritarian rule.

Comparing his administration with that of Donald Trump's, Biden said President Obama went eight years "without a single scandal".
