1 firefighter killed, 2 seriously hurt in San Antonio fire

A San Antonio firefighter was killed and two more were injured in a major fire Thursday night at a strip mall.

The fire broke out at Ingram Park shopping center just after 9 p.m.

Two firefighters went missing during the evacuation, Hood said.

Theresa May says not taking local election triumph for granted
Ukip was pulverised in local elections today, clearing another hurdle between Theresa May and a decisive general election victory. The Tories made striking gains in Scotland, including in such previously hostile territory as east Glasgow and Renfrewshire.

Hood said two other firefighters were transported to area hospitals - one a priority one transport and the other a priority two.

However, San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said both are expected to be alright.

Close to 60 firefighting units were at the scene of the fire located at 6776 Ingram Rd. "We started having structural collapses, and we had to go defensive", he said. One was critically injured and the other was reportedly in serious condition. Because the situation was becoming too unsafe, Hood said the rest of the firefighters had to evacuate the building, leaving Deem behind. He said they don't ever want to leave a firefighter behind, but they would have lost 15 or 20 more firefighters had they stayed inside. However, conditions inside the building rapidly changed and may have prevented Deem from escaping.

Sunderland goalkeeper can succeed De Gea says Manchester United legend
Jamie Carragher believes that David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world - just ahead of Manuel Neuer. Sergio Romero has been great and I think he is a very good worldwide goalkeeper and he has to stay.

"Those who put their lives on the line to serve others deserve our deepest respect, and we can never say thank you enough", he said.
