The Demolition Of White Hart Lane Is Well Underway Already

Tottenham Hotspur legends including Glenn Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles took part in an on-pitch ceremony as the club said goodbye to their White Hart Lane stadium on Sunday (May 14).

Spurs will play their home fixtures at Wembley Stadium next season while their new home is built.

"What a way to finish".

"Tottenham were a team at the maximum of their potential, with all players, with all the motivation to win the last match at home", he said. I said before I'd love to score the winning goal and for it to happen is brilliant.

The Blues clinched their fifth Premier League - and sixth overall - title on Friday night following a 1-0 win at West Brom, with closest challengers Spurs opening the door for them by losing to West Ham last week. "It is great to achieve second position, we have been unbeaten at home all season so there are a lot of things to be happy about".

The British number one was facing the American veteran for the first time since March, when victory sent her into the final in Miami.

By the time they are playing in the new home, they'll hope to have delivered Tottenham's first league title since 1961.

"It's an unbelievable stadium and we just have to make sure we feel comfortable there", midfielder Dele Alli said.

On Monday morning Spurs chairman Daniel Levy handed over the keys to the stadium to Mark Reynolds, the CEO of a contracting company called Mace, who will oversee construction of the club's new stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino's side lost 4-2 to Premier League champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley last month.

With two games remaining they could still end up with 86 points, five more than Leicester City managed when winning the Premier League last season.

Of the five meetings between the sides in all competitions since the start of last season, Spurs have lost only once (W1 D3). United's thrashing by Manchester City is probably best remembered for Mario Balotelli's 'Why Always Me?' celebration.

The Full Time Devils interviewed a selection of United fans leaving White Hart Lane following Sunday's contest and the consensus was pretty clear - Mourinho is yet to learn what the club's fans expect from their team.

"When we're out there, we'll try to play exciting football, press high like we do here and that should get the crowd on their feet".

"We were aggressive and played to win".

"For me it was a very exciting day because I think it was ideal".

He added: "We've just got to next season go out and try and win some trophies, and go into the new season as proper title contenders and players who can win trophies".

The Austrian fought off a double match point at 4-6 in the tiebreaker, then thwarted a third match point at 6-7 before surviving. At this year's Australian Open, six-times champion Djokovic was knocked out in the second round by 117th-ranked Denis Istomin.
