Steelers release long snapper Warren after failed physical

He didn't make a bad snap in two years on the job at Louisville. He also had a tendency to get lost in the passing game from time to time, but despite this, he still produced well enough to warrant 13 starts last season. His ability to play in the 2017 season was in doubt.

He caught 18 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown on 34 targets during his six contests with Pittsburgh, but the veteran may struggle to catch on with another team if the issues with his head persist.

The Steelers also like the potential of young tight end Xavier Grimble, and they still have David Johnson as a blocking tight end. Scott Orndoff of Pitt and Phazahn Odom of Fordham, who was signed after the Steelers rookie minicamp. He had 28 yards and a touchdown on nine carries in Week 17 action for the Eagles and was waived on May 4.
