Stars pay tribute to Chris Cornell

Local publication WXYZ reports that Cornell's wife called a family friend to check up on the singer's well-being. "A full autopsy report has not yet been completed".

Below, check out Jimmy Page's Twitter tribute to Cornell-plus two exclusive Guitar World videos from 2015 that show Page being interviewed by Cornell at the Ace Hotel Theater in Los Angeles.

A representative for Cornell, Brian Bumbery, said in a statement that the death was "sudden and unexpected". Police said his death is being investigated as a possible suicide. In 1984, he formed the band Soundgarden, which was influential in the 1990s grunge movement.

Cornell, age 52, died Wednesday night following Soundgarden's concert in Detroit.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Model Nina Agdal Split
The supermodel and actor were last spotted sharing a kiss in New York City last month. "They broke up a couple of days ago". In the past, he's dated such famous faces as Gisele Bundchen , Bar Refaeli , Kelly Rohrbach and Erin Heatherton.

The police would not confirm that the victim died of suicide, but stated that after the officers forced entry into the room he was found with a band around his neck, and their preliminary determination was an "apparent suicide".

Lisa Croff, of the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, said they have Cornell's body and expect to release more information later this afternoon.

Staffers and well as fans that were present at Cornell's last concert at Detroit's Fox Theatre on Wednesday night have come out and stated that there were no signs the star had any intentions of ending his life.

With his distinctive, clear and powerful voice, Cornell was one of the seminal artists of the late '80s/early '90s grunge rock scene in Seattle. The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and have asked for privacy. The list of hits from that record is lengthy including "Black Hole Sun", "Fell On Black Days", "Spoonman" and "The Day I Tried To Live". Their song, "Like a Stone", was nominated for a Grammy.

Joe Lieberman is top contender for new Federal Bureau of Investigation director
The outlet reports that former Senator Joe Lieberman is his top pick and overall "frontrunner" for the position. Lieberman has run for a number of political jobs, including, unsuccessfully, president of the United States.

They broke up in 2007 due to tensions in the group and Cornell continued to pursue his solo career.

Cornell reunited with Soundgarden in 2010, and a sixth studio album (King Animal) was released in 2012.

The 1996 album Down on the Upside was derided by critics, and Cornell's first solo album, 1999's Euphoria Morning, was considered deeply uncool.

In 2001 he had success with a second band, Audioslave, with Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk.
