Senate Intelligence Committee leaders demand Comey's notes

"I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go", the New York Times reported Trump said, citing the Comey memo. In it, associates said, Comey recorded an effort by the president to get him to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Graham is heading a subcommittee looking into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, a panel that recently heard from Sally Yates, the deputy attorney general also fired by Trump after she warned the White House about Flynn. Elijah Cummings, top Democrat on a key House oversight panel, countered that Ryan and the Republicans had shown "zero, zero, zero appetite for any investigation of President Trump".

Some analysts have argued that this sequence further deteriorated the trustworthiness of Trump's media representatives.

Donald Trump says he fired James Comey because he was 'unpopular'
But asked in March about what he knew as the head of Trump's vetting apparatus, Pence insisted he had just heard the news. If Pence aligns himself too closely with Trump, he could wind up being forced out of politics along with him, or worse.

It asked acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe to hand over any notes Comey has of conversations between the White House and Justice Department officials about the Russian Federation probe. And then, there's the question of recent demands by ranking Democrats on the House oversight, judiciary and intelligence committees for any possible White House recordings, transcripts or notes memorializing Trump's side of the story. "I rise today, Mr. Speaker, to call for the impeachment of the President of the United States of America for obstruction of justice". Trump himself said he had "an absolute right" as president to share "facts pertaining to terrorism" and airline safety with Russian Federation. "If [Vice President] Pence, [Attorney General Jeff] Sessions, [Jared] Kushner or anyone else took any action in an attempt to impede the FBI's investigation into the Trump campaign's ties to Russian Federation, then they would find themselves in the same boat President Trump appears to be in".

As with many of Putin's maneuvers, his offer to release a record of the White House meeting with Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, and its Washington ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, seemed created to unnerve and confuse. He said he would give the Federal Bureau of Investigation a week and then "if we need a subpoena, we'll do it".

Does this rise to the level of criminal obstruction of justice?

The letter specifically requests any "recordings, transcripts, notes, summaries, and memoranda" related to conversations between Comey and Trump.

A pair of Senate committees, meanwhile, wants more information about Comey's interaction with President Trump. That is why Congress needs to focus on establishing the truth about this matter, and soon.
