From crisis to crisis: Trump's struggling presidency

As the White House sought to contain the damage from two major scandals, leaders of two key Senate committees asked the FBI for documents related to former director James B. Comey, who was leading an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election before Trump fired him last week.

Chairman Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican, and Vice Chairman Mark Warner, a Democrat from Virginia, said they have asked Comey to testify before the panel in both open and closed sessions.

Comey wrote the memo after he met in the Oval Office with Trump, the day after the president fired Flynn on February 14 for misleading Vice President Mike Pence about the extent of his conversations a year ago with Sergey Kislyak, Russia's ambassador in Washington, DC.

"Trump began the discussion by condemning leaks to the news media, saying that Mr. Comey should consider putting reporters in prison for publishing classified information, according to one of Mr. Comey's associates", The New York Times said. The news, which sent another shock wave through Washington, heightened concerns that Trump tried to block the probe into his campaign's ties to Russian Federation, the Globe's Matt Viser reports.

"I'm hopeful we can reach agreement in a bipartisan fashion on how to move forward in a professional manner", Graham said.

"Last week, the President tweeted a message implying that the White House may have recordings of interactions with Mr. Comey", wrote the ranking members of the committee, seemingly referring to Trump's May 12th tweet warning about "tapes" of conversations with Comey.

In England, however, Mourinho said there had never been any concessions to clubs that go far in European competitions. Asked if he had submitted a request for the game to be moved, Mourinho replied: "I don't lose time".

"There are serious concerns that the president may have improperly tried to obstruct an FBI investigation".

This is the latest effort in a newly invigorated push from congressional Republicans to investigate the scandal-plagued White House. They're also asking whether Comey memorialized any other conversations during the Obama presidency or whether he only made a decision to take notes about Trump. The existence of the memo was first reported Tuesday by The New York Times.
