Former DOJ Spox: Comey Is Trying To Take Down Trump

Trump last week fired Comey, who was overseeing the FBI investigation into whether anyone associated with Trump's campaign cooperated with Russian intelligence officials in their effort to influence the 2016 presidential election.

This week, the New York Times published excerpts from a memo Comey wrote, indicating that Trump had asked for the FBI to drop its investigations into Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser who resigned amid a previous bout of Russia-related scandals.

That was the White House's position initially after the deputy attorney general argued in a memo that Comey had erred in handling the FBI's investigation into Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's private email server, even though Trump had praised Comey on the campaign trail a year ago.

A US Senate panel investigating possible Russian interference in US elections and possible collusion with President Donald Trump's campaign team has requested that James Comey, the sacked Federal Bureau of Investigation director, testify before its members.

Early on Thursday morning, Trump tweeted that he believed he was a victim to "the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!"

Chris Cornell, of Soundgarden and Audioslave, Dead at Only 52
Here, we see not only Cornell as a musician, but also as a family man and a guy with a great sense of humor. Among those responding to the news is Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, who called Cornell "incredibly talented".

"Decisions about what President Trump discusses with anybody that he has in the White House is a matter for President Trump", Ms May told a news conference when asked whether Mr Trump's disclosure had made her reluctant to share intelligence with him.

"This is about what I believe".

But Mueller and Comey have been longtime allies dating back to at least 2003 when the men both worked in Washington, D.C., Mueller as FBI Director and Comey as Deputy Attorney General.

He said that he thinks the appointment of a special counsel "divides the country".

Two U.S. officials said on Monday Trump had disclosed classified information about a planned Islamic State operation to Lavrov when they met last week, plunging the White House into a fresh controversy just four months into Trump's tenure. "Director Comey was very unpopular with most people", Trump said. Democrats and some of the president's fellow Republicans had demanded an independent probe of whether Russian Federation tried to sway the outcome of November's election in favor of Trump and against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Rocker Chris Cornell has died at age 52
It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Soundgarden's lead singer, Chris Cornell , at the age of 52. The Wayne County Medical Examiner's office will make an official determination about the cause of death.

"My decision (to appoint a special counsel) is not the finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted". "You can't let them get you down, you can't let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams".

The president said he thought the ousting would be greeted with bipartisan support.

Trump said the investigation has divided the country and distracted from his agenda.

"I don't think I'm in a position to give any advice to President Trump".

UK's May promises voters immigration curbs, fairer society
The Tories say, for example, that they plan to spend a minimum of £8bn on the NHS. And they look to their government for help and support.
