Facebook Unveils New Look For Messenger

The update is turning the Messenger into a personal hub for connecting with all the people and businesses users care about.

At the heart of the new features is a new-look home screen with new tabs for messages, including one that shows which of your friends are active on Messenger through a highlighted green dot. The app also will direct you to visit other areas by displaying a red dot on sections and tabs that have new activity.

New Orleans Removes Confederate Statue In Predawn Operation
Two years ago, Mayor Mitch Landrieu signed an ordinance that prompted the removal and relocation of four confederate statues. A committee member sued on Monday to stop the city from removing a statue of Confederate States Army General P.G.T.

"By tapping or swiping to these tabs, you can quickly navigate to where you need to go and get messaging faster", Facebook wrote in a post on the Messenger page. It now has tabs for Home, Calls, the in-app Camera, and People and Games.

All of the changes are rolling out to everyone worldwide starting this week. Under Messages, users will see a cleaner list of ongoing conversations, as well as its Messenger Day - which is similar to Instagram Stories - at the top. These tabs, as one example, isolates users who are active that moment, making it easier to find who is online versus those who aren't now available. The same bar will also include Facebook's new Discover tab when it gets released.

WTA CEO Unhappy With Maria Sharapova's French Open Snub
She's qualified for the Wimbledon qualifying rounds but can still be handed a wild card when the decision is made on June 20. Some players were critical of tournament organizers who allowed Sharapova into the tournament without any ranking points.

'Today's update puts the many ways people connect on Messenger front and centre'.

"These small changes are created to make Messenger simpler for you - to help you get to your contacts quickly, jump into your conversations where you left off, start new chats, and stay up to date", Facebook wrote.

Mauricio Pochettino on the summer transfer window
"There is no buy-out clause in my contract, I will stay here next season", Pochettino, who joined Spurs in 2014, said. Shakespeare took the reins at the King Power Stadium in February 2017 following the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

Games were rolled out globally earlier this month and the company has lost no time in giving them a place of prominence on its main app. Facebook probably believes that they will be a big driving force in its user engagement.
