Conor McGregor strikes deal for boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr

After months of negotiations, UFC superstar Conor McGregor has officially agreed terms on a deal to fight boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in the squared circle. Congratulations to all parties involved.

"The McGregor side is done", White said Wednesday during an interview on "Inside the NBA" on TNT.

McGregor said that it's now up to Al Haymon, the adviser to Mayweather, to convince "Pretty Boy" into signing the contract and making the fight happen.

White recently indicated the target date for the fight was September 16, but a major bout between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin has been announced for that night. For a while it's been all talk, but McGregor and the UFC are apparently ready to allow for the possibility if a deal can be reached with Mayweather.

The plot follows a young "Arthur" who runs the back streets of "Londinium" with his crew, unaware of his royal lineage until he draws the sword "Excalibur" from the stone.

Per the Observer (h/t the Guardian), the American announced to FightHype in March he would come out of retirement to face the Irishman and urged him to "sign the paper".

With Mayweather now in the United Kingdom overseeing preparation for Gervonta Davis" latest defense against Liam Walsh in London, nothing is set to be forthcoming from "The Money Team' side until after the fight.

It seems like we have been hearing hypothetical discussions about a fight between boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC fighter Conor McGregor. Now it's time to work on the other.

Dana White also revealed that the match would be "straight-up boxing", as opposed to mixed martial arts style that McGregor is used to in the octagon.

The Congressman said that his call for impeachment is a position of conscience for him and asked the American people to speak up. House and Senate committees have immediately - and rightly - requested copies of the memos related to this controversy.

Now it is up to Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White to nail down the final details with Al Hayman of Mayweather's camp to set the fight.

With The Notorious' now fully committed to the bout however, we are one step closer to seeing this historic fight.

"I came out of retirement because I'm a businessman and I want to give the world what they want to see", he added.

White's words, of course, are often taken with a grain of salt by MMA's rather untrusting fans.
