Senate Intel Committee Wants Comey Memos And Testimony


As for Comey, whom Trump fired last week, the FBI director wrote in a memo after a February meeting at the White House that the new president had asked him to shut down the FBI's investigation of Flynn and his Russian contacts, said a person who had read the memo.

"The requests follow news reports that Comey authored internal memos following meetings and conversations with President Trump in order to document what he perceived to be improper behavior by the President with respect to ongoing investigations at the FBI", said the committee. "This is not a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the President and Mr. Comey".

But the White House has provided differing accounts.

And lawmakers have alleged that the sudden sacking was an attempt to stifle the bureau's investigation into Trump associates' ties to Russia's meddling in the campaign.
