Google shifts mobile focus to apps and digital assistant

That echoes Amazon's Echo speaker, which was released earlier and so has had more time to acquire a wider range of abilities. From the image above, it does certainly seem as though preferences will be given to some apps (presumably the ones Android TV device owners use the most), with other apps being pushed further back into the system. It lets people point their camera at things to find out more information about them. In the real world, that means you could, for instance, point your phone camera at a restaurant and get reviews for it. Samsung is trying to some of that with its new Bixby Vision feature on the Galaxy S8 phones.

Pinterest has a similar tool.

Google claims the feature will be smart enough so that you could auto-share only specific photos - say, of your kids - to your partner or a friend. Google will also let you share whole photo libraries with others. The company envisions a world in which incredible photos are no longer left on people's phones because other pressing things in life got in the way.
