Congressman calls for Trump's impeachment on House floor

In perhaps the most famous presidential scandal in American history, the president wasn't impeached.

Treason and bribery are straightforward, but what exactly constitutes a "High Crime" or "Misdemeanor" has always been open to interpretation.

Calls are getting louder for the impeachment of US President Donald Trump who remains overwhelmed by controversies, including an ongoing investigation into his team's alleged links to the Russian government. The official reason was his violation of the Tenure of Office Act - which was later declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Overall, if you believe that Trump should be impeached (or if you do not), there are several quick and easy ways to share your views with your member of Congress.

Some, such as the online political stock market PredictIt, have seen record volume during the last two days on contracts focused on whether Trump will be impeached.

Why Was James Comey Fired? President Trump Contradicts His Team
Trump's tweet came the morning after he asserted Comey had told him three times that he wasn't under FBI investigation. Even before Trump's provocative tweet, the White House was scrambling to clarify why Comey was sacked .

Impeachment articles against a president require a majority vote of approval in the House of Representatives. If that happens, they can remove the President from office.

President Richard Nixon resigned on August 8, 1974, after three articles of impeachment were drafted charging him with obstruction of justice, abuse of power and contempt of Congress. First, a majority of the House of Representatives would have to vote in favor of impeachment. Bookies are even giving a 33% chance on him being impeached. Not just any crimes and misdemeanors, mind you.

Third, the Senate would vote on whether to convict or acquit Trump. For many more, the president has been vulnerable to impeachment since the day of his inauguration, and the tension between his personal business holdings and the Constitution's emoluments clause is sufficient to justify an impeachment.

A common misconception is that the Supreme Court plays a major role in the proceedings.

If the Trump presidency continues to unravel and a constitutional case for impeachment can be made, Democrats can force Republicans into a perilous Catch-22 over whether to own it. Does that essentially make Trump bulletproof?

Three different factors contribute to the index score - familiarity, quality and purchase consideration. In 2003, the brand - which remains family-owned - began expanding out of the Washington, DC area.

While a number of congressional Democrats have proposed impeaching Trump, no Republicans have echoed those calls.

Dumb in every way, but lots of grassroots liberals feel like this so go figure that House members are starting to mimic them.

Democratic ownership of impeachment would also cement the loyalty of working-class Trump voters to the Republican Party. They found that 54 percent would vote for Joe Biden over Donald Trump, and 52 percent would vote for Bernie Sanders over Donald Trump.

As the backlash escalates to Trump's firing of Comey last week, Democratic lawmakers are increasingly raising the prospect of impeachment.
