Rain and wind forecast across Sussex this week

An area of low pressure has been moving up the northeast coast this weekend, providing us the clouds and moisture.

Today: A rather cloudy and breezy morning with outbreaks of light rain or drizzle in places. Come mid day, that low pressure will slide to the east. The rain and drizzle will end in the evening. Tuesday a ridge starts to build up, allowing for a nice stretch of weather. Temperatures will continue to remain in the 80s on Friday, according to the NWS.

Clear spells will develop on Monday night but showers or longer spells of rain will be ongoing.

Thursday Night. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m.

Wednesday will be warm and sunny as highs reach around 90.

Rain is to clear away tonight for mostly dry weather with a few clear spells. Breezy, with a south wind 16 to 22 miles per hour.

Tuesday night - Showers and thunderstorms likely (70 percent), mainly before 1 a.m., with a low around 65 and south winds gusting as high as 25 miles per hour. Wind: Northwest 10-20mph, gusts 25mph.

Today Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.

As you can see above by late Monday morning we will have a few clouds, but stay dry.

The gusty winds will continue today, out of the north around 30 miles per hour. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.

The chance for showers will be limited through the week, with a slight chance as deeper warmth becomes established on Wednesday, then the potential for thunderstorms Thursday evening as heat peaks and a cold front approaches from the west. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s.

Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely.
