One Million Porsche 911s since 1963

One Million Porsche 911s since 1963

You'd have thought that Porsche would adorn the millionth 911 with a wing on which you could serve a banquet, seats that only a contortionist could get into, and an engine that revs to oblivion and pulls like a train, but quite the contrary. The 911 Carrera S has been given a special Irish Green colour and will go to the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

That's right, the German sports vehicle manufacturer has built one million 911s since the first one rolled off the production line some 54 years ago - which equates to 50 models being assembled a day on average. Speaking to auto and Driver, the head of 718 and 911 development, August Achleitner, confirmed the project was actually killed off past year despite it being very efficient on paper.

In a very real sense, the 911 made Porsche what it is today - the world's leading sports auto builder.

'This is a democracy': Int'l court may be next for Duterte
He said his complaint was based on official records, affidavits of witnesses and Mr Duterte's own public pronouncements. Since he took office in June previous year , police have reported killing about 2,700 drug suspects.

With every single 911 being created in Zuffenhausen over the last 54 years, it marks a significant achievement for the German auto brand.

The 911 model will embark on a world tour and will take road trips in the Scottish Highlands, around the Nürburgring, and in the USA, China and beyond before it moves on to the collection at the Porsche Museum. A testimony to this can be witnessed with its highest ranking by the "Initial Quality Study" done by JD Power.

ON THE face of it, the auto you see here is just a 2017 model Porsche 911 Carrera.

A federal judge also ordered Miller to pay a $40,000 fine and spend two years on probation following her release. How does a nice Catholic girl end up going to prison for a year? It's insane ", she said.

Porsche claim that around 70 per cent of the one million cars they have built are still "ready tp drive today" and over half of all of their race wins are down to the 911. "We have continued to enhance the technology of the 911, refining and perfecting the sports vehicle", he said. Today, all two-door models - 911, 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman - and their various derivatives are handled on one assembly line thanks to a sophisticated production approach.

Naturally, Porsche has had a queue of people waving huge cheques at them to own the millionth 911, but the car's destined for the Porsche museum after embarking on a global tour, taking in Scotland, the Nurburgring, the rest of Europe, the United States and China.
