Trump camp highlights first 100 days in new TV ad

On the eve of completing his first 100 days in office, President Donald Trump has said this landmark timeline has been the most successful in the US' history.

"We're getting a lot of things done".

A New York Times editorial titled "100 Days of Noise From Donald Trump" excoriated his ignorance of policy and politics and warned of his danger to American institutions.

"So I have a question for you".

As if he were escaping the pressures of the office, Trump is scheduled to attend a Saturday evening rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he is expected to return to much of the campaign rhetoric that has enthralled his base.

"I respectfully suggest that it's not just about the correspondents' dinner, it's rather an opportunity for him to talk to voters that elected him and what he's been able to accomplish in the first 100 days", Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday.

Though most American presidents have historically rolled their campaign organizations into political action committees after taking office, the Federal Election Committee allows presidents who are eligible to run for re-election to keep campaign committees up and running.
