Pakistan makes solid start in third Test

Pakistan have never won a Test series in the Caribbean on seven previous tours.

Younis entered his final Test to a moment of the utmost class from the opposition and he played a capable back up to Azhar, who had a lucky escape when he dropped his bat while trying to defend Shannon Gabriel.

Pakistan negotiated a potentially tricky first session, reaching 70 for one on the first day of the third and final Test against the West Indies at Windsor Park in Dominica on Wednesday.

Younis tailed off after a second-innings debut century (107) against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi in early 2000 and didn't really cement a permanent Test place until he struck a career-defining 124 against Sri Lanka at Karachi in October 2004.

Theresa May 'not taking anything for granted' after Labour's local election rout
Mr McDonnell said the party's performance had been a surprise but he urged Labour to redouble its efforts over the coming weeks. It lost control of Glasgow, Scotland's biggest city, for the first time since 1980, as well as two other councils.

If Afghan cricket board and Younis Khan reach an agreement, it will be the fourth time that the neighbouring country acquires services of a Pakistani to improve cricketing standards.

And what a turnaround it was for Misbah.

Pakistan's greatest bowling threat remains Yasir Shah though, the leg-spinner's match haul of nine for 177 in the losing effort in the second Test giving him 17 so far in the series.

And finally, to the million dollar question - can Pakistan win the series? Tactically, he may have lacked the skills of being daring and innovative like the best in the business. "It can serve as an ice-breaker between Pakistan and Afghanistan".

Infinity War is an Avengers movie. "I think that there could be a Guardians Vol. 4, but it would not be the same". But it's unwise for Marvel to ditch their more grounded movies in order to fling all the action into space.

Whatever Misbah has achieved, Younis has been one of the key factors behind his success.

Like Younis in his farewell Test match, Misbah ul Haq is already leaving an indelible mark on this fixture, although not in the way that anyone might have expected. As they have lost over and over on pitches which should have suited them more!

Misbah hopes occasion can give more motivation: Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq hopes his and Younus Khan's impending retirement from worldwide cricket can spur the team in its pursuit of a maiden Test series win against West Indies in the Caribbean. "It might be on the slow side to start but hopefully it quickens up as the game goes on".
