Germany to clamp down on North Korea's Berlin operations

Specifically, Germany plans to ban North Korea's operation of a hostel and conference center at the site of the North Korean embassy in the center of Berlin, according to the report.

The outlets reported the embassy receives a "high five-figure" monthly sum from the operator of the facilities, located in the middle of Berlin not far from landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate.

The new measures, drawn up by the Chancellery and three other ministries, aims to stop North Korea from operating the hostel and congress center on its embassy's premises in eastern Berlin as a source of foreign currency, the German Foreign Ministry said.
